UNDERDOG ROOTS SURGES INTO FINAL

Dec 30, 2020

Congratulations are in order for ROOTS (@roots_0121) as she surges through the ranks and into the final after a barnstorming tournament.  On the circuit since 2017 she made her first appearance at the inaugural UK Illustration Championships suffering a Round 1 defeat then again in 2019 where she faced-off against new-comer and surrealist threat Boyishmind (@boyishmind).

Battle-hardened and determined she’s back with a vengeance after winning her last 4 rounds back-2-back! Using her experience, talent and witty interpretations her fantastic Quarter-Final entry: Tony Blair set to get very own rock opera staged in London in 2021 secured her a well deserved place in the Semi-Finals where she went up against Scottish supremo Imrie (@createdbyimrie) battling over headline: Bridge collapses sending 30 posing beauty queens into dirty pond … Imrie’s ‘Go Big or Go Home’ approach was close to paying off until hitting the final 10 minutes, realising he had a mountain to climb he began to fatigue, ultimately leaving his entry unfinished.  ROOTS seized the initiative creating arguably her strongest entry to-date with a mesmerizing ‘Tangerine’ colour selection helping bring her character depictions and on-paper narrative to life.

Successfully showcasing her personality and delivering steadfast narrative gained her favour among the judging panel and secured the backing of her loyal and highly engaged following winning the social social by just 2 clear votes.

Don’t miss what promises to be a tantalising New Year’s eve showdown with Alex Solis (@alexmdc) as they compete against headline: Fish and chip shop creates ‘world’s largest’ pig in a blanket measuring two feet while we wait to discover who’ll take this years UK title!
